 I. It is commonly called honey bee.
2. It is a social and colonial insect
3. It lives in bee hives.
4. The colony is comprised of workers,
5. The body consists of a head, a tho-rax and an abdomen.
 6. The head contains a pair ofeyes and a pair of antennae.
7. The mouth parts are of chewing and lapping type.
 8. It feeds on the nectar.
9. There are two pairs of wings.
10. There are 3 pairs of legs covered with bristles.
11. The abdomen bears wax glands and sting.
12. There is division of labour in the colony.
13. It gives us honey and wax.
14. Rearing of honey bees is called api-culture or bee keeping.
